Y1 have been learning about different forms of transport in class so out at Forest School we investigated transport that is found in nature. We found a snail and looked at the trail left behind – we talked about how this slime trail helps snails glide along. We found ‘helicopter’ seeds on the field maple trees and pretended to be seeds spinning in the wind. We also found hazelnuts that fallen from the tree and some had been nibbled – we talked about ‘who’ might move seeds and nuts in nature and agreed that we thought it was probably a squirrel who had been spreading the hazelnuts and acorns around!
