Our staff had a training session with Tees Wildlife exploring how we could take more of our learning outdoors, making use of the natural environment whilst helping our well-being. We looked at many areas of the curriculum, including using natural materials to create art, maths – finding objects to count, make base ten, measure the height of trees, looking at angles on a leaf and English – using descriptive language to build a story around a natural object, creating group haiku’s on the subject of a tree and much more. Many staff were enthused about the benefits of working outdoors in nature.
