Year 6 have been discussing plants and flowers that are beneficial to pollinating creatures. From their previous learning, the children have some knowledge of the kinds of plants and flowers that bees like (e.g. lavender, geranium, wild roses, herbs). Through further research, the class broadened the list and chose appropriate seeds from a selection that will attract a range of wildlife and encourage pollination. Then it was time to get planting.
The children are very excited to see which and whose seed is going to sprout first as well as the difference it will make to pollinating visitors to the garden.
