Today during our session we recapped all the things we do to look after trees. We still cannot get over how we give them carbon dioxide and they return oxygen to us!
We thought about what our feelings showed us last week about trees and remembered our conversation about insects pollinating plants!
We went on an insect hunt thinking about the places insects like to hide – dark and damp!
We found worms slugs and woodlice under the bench stumps, a lady bug on the stinging nettles, and a centipede! We learned that millipedes have more legs closer together so we could tell the difference.
Then, we recycled plastic plant pots to add more places for insects to hide. We stacked them into a bug hotel.
A lady bug moved straight in! We hope we get some more visitors soon!
