The trees that have been donated by the Tree Council have enabled our children to have their very own fruit orchard! Over the past year our children have been busy planting trees and creating hedgerows to encourage wildlife into our school grounds. Beneath the trees they have sown a variety of wild flowers so that we can enjoy a beautiful meadow in an area that was once an unused area of the school field.
Children have been discovering the benefits that the great outdoors has on their mental health and wellbeing and our SEMH intervention group, Monty Club, spend most afternoons outside, plating vegetable seeds and making bird feeders. As the trees mature over the coming years, we will be able to harvest enough fruit to supplement our school kitchen! So far, a crab apple tree that planted in The Reverie ! So far, a crab apple tree that planted in The Reverie, generated enough fruit for our catering team to make jam for EVERY single child in the school to taste!
