The Robert Burns Supported Learning Centre in Cumnock has been developing a market garden to reduce food miles but also teach gardening skills and enterprise. The pupils are participating in various outdoor education schemes to give experiences in fitness, greening the campus, protection and conservation and food growing. It is an all encompassing project meeting two to three times a week. The pupils loved planting the native shrubs and trees up on a hill outside their campus in a No-mow area. The fruit trees were planted in the market garden and are fed and watered because they were bare rooted trees. They can not wait to plant and care for more. Thank you for this opportunity.
