This afternoon (9/02) we took learning outside and learnt all about the 17 species of bats found in Britain and explored their diet and habitat.
Firstly, we considered communication and the importance of working together as we managed to send a hula hoop our circle without talking to each other. On the 3rd attempt we managed it in 20 seconds.
After finding out that Bats eat up to 3000 mosquitos in one evening, students had a race to see who could collect the most ‘mosquitos’ in the shortest space of time.
Our final challenge was to build a tall tower out of twigs strong enough to hold a beanbag bird.
As always, our students worked together brilliantly; were attentive and asked pertinent questions demonstrating their curiosity.
