Reception & Year 1
On Friday, our children proved they were a Force for Nature by braving sleet and even a brief flurry of snow to start planting our new hedgerow in the Science Garden. With trees Supplied by the Tree Council, they became Young Tree Champions, planting mixed broadleaved species along the fence line, to create a wildlife corridor, a pollution barrier and a sound trap. Not bad for a morning’s work!
Asked why they liked planting trees, Harper replied, ‘Because we go outside and do challenges and get to have fun!’ Frankie was more succinct, ‘Because I like finding bugs!’
