After Grianne came to school to teach us about trees, our eco-club noticed how important the tree community is to our school.

We decided to support the biodiversity that is in our tree community. We noticed lots of birds flying around, particularly after break and lunch. We asked our teaching staff if they could support us by bringing in tins that we could upcycle into bird feeders.

We painted our bird feeders with eco-friendly, non-toxic paints, and attached string to them. A member of staff donated lots of bird seeds and nuts for us, so we hid them in the trees for birds and squirrels to eat.

We’re going to continue to check on these, and wash them to help reduce disease spread, and allow our fauna to enjoy our tree community like we do!
