The trees donated by the Woodland Trust have been planted at Cockfield Primary School as part of the development of their Forest School area. Trees were planted on the site prior to the COVID pandemic and these trees did not survive the challenges (including rabbits and tough weather) present on the site without human support. The school have taken the decision to name the trees after the school’s values in order to attribute value to the the trees and therefore ensure that they are protected by the school community. The signs for the trees were created by our caretaker (Mr Armstrong) in his own time using wood which was donated by Janus International as part of their waste reduction programme. The trees were named in a whole-school naming ceremony and are still standing strong!
