Our planting of a community orchard with flowering fruit trees nearby should help increase the number of insects and biodiversity to enrich biodiversity in the area.
As tree champions we planted a community orchard of apple pear plum and quince trees. kindly donated to us by the Tree Council’s Orchard for Schools Project.
We need to care for our orchard and water the trees for them to survive.
We all helped fill water containers from the stream and take them up to the orchard to water the saplings.
The saplings are growing well, as we could see fresh green buds springing from them.
We are real tree champions!
