Y6 and our John Muir group have spent the last couple of weeks looking after our young trees. The long grass needed pulling back from around the trees then a thick layer of bark chippings mulch was applied to keep the weeds away for as long as possible and to help keep moisture in the soil. For the bug-hunting enthusiasts in our groups it was a great chance to find an array of creatures hiding in the long grass whilst doing a useful job!
