P6 and P7 pupils visited a local park to find out more about the trees that grow there. They learned how to identify them using their leaves. They measured their height and circumference and used this information to calculate each tree’s carbon value. This led to some great discussion about how trees help the environment and how we can protect trees and woodland habitats.

Really interesting. How did you work out the carbon value? Looks like a great lesson!
